Under the slogan “True Sound“, Sennheiser is presenting its very latest headphone models at IFA 2011. The audio specialist has a broad product portfolio on show. The RS 220 wireless high-end headphones set new standards and are a true innovation for fans of sophisticated audio technology. Sennheiser also has various other new models to offer that will delight fans looking for powerful sounds. The headphones of the HD 200 and HD 400 Series feature a rich sound and an attractive outfit, while the new ear-canal phones of the IE Series are aimed at audio professionals.
“We are very pleased to present our new headphone models to a broad range of highly discerning audio fans at IFA. Our portfolio ranges from wireless high-end headphones and professional-quality ear-canal phones to new HD models that offer a rich sound in a new design,” explained Maurice Quarré, Director of Product Lifecycle Management, Sennheiser Consumer Electronics. “At the show in Berlin, music enthusiasts will have an opportunity to put our ‘True Sound’ to a rigorous test.” Sennheiser will be showing its latest products at IFA from 2 to 7 September in Hall 3.2, Stand 135, including the following new additions to its range:
The new RS 220 from Sennheiser sets new standards in wireless transmission. Until now, sound transmission via a cable has always been far superior to its wireless counterpart. Now, with its digital wireless headphones, audio specialist Sennheiser has succeeded for the first time in combining wireless music enjoyment with high-end quality. Dynamic transducers ensure clear, lifelike reproduction with a frequency response of 19 to 21,000 hertz; the system has a range of up to 100 metres. Analogue and digital inputs guarantee an optimum connection to the audio source. As the system does not use automatic adaptation of the signal level, the original dynamics of the sound source are fully maintained. The RS 220 will go on sale in late autumn.
With a precise sound that is unrivalled in the portable segment, the new ear-canal phones of the IE Series are the ideal choice for highly demanding users. The earphones benefit from Sennheiser’s many years of experience in the professional music sector. Both models use dynamic transducers that cover the entire frequency response with a single system. The IE 60 features a precisely defined bass, while the top-of-the-range IE 80 also offers the possibility of varying the bass volume by an adjuster screw to generate either a bass-focused or a balanced sound image. With their luxurious designs, the new IE headphones are subtle eye-catchers.
With stylish outfits and a rich bass, the new HD 200 models are certain to put a smile on your face whether you are at home or on the move. Both the HD 219 and the HD 229 deliver the ultimate in bass sounds, while the closed design ensures that loud music stays inside the headphones and ambient noise is kept out. The top-of-the-range HD 239 offers music fans a precise, balanced listening experience. The headphones owe their detailed, lifelike reproduction to a transducer with powerful neodymium magnets and a frequency response of 16 to 23,000 Hz.
They not only turn people’s heads with their cool design, they also conjure up the perfect sound for every music fan: the HD 419, HD 429 and HD 439 deliver a powerful bass for the funkiest of sounds, while the HD 449 offers a natural, balanced sound no matter whether you’re out and about or chilling out at home.
For the colours of the new earphones, Sennheiser took its inspiration from colours seen through a microscope and from information colours from graphic design. In addition to a dynamic sound, both models offer a very good price-performance ratio. The CX 215, finished in “microscopic” colours red, orange, bronze, green and blue, expands the successful series of ear-canal phones. The colours white, orange, brown, bronze, blue and red are reminiscent of computer graphics and make the MX 365 an optical highlight. The powerful, bass-focused earphones offer perfect listening enjoyment for those on the move.
The VMX 200 – VoiceMax™ uses innovative technology to separate background noise from the phone call, while delivering some of the best sound quality available in Bluetooth headsets. The tiny Bluetooth 3.0 headset features not only one but two built-in microphones. They are able to determine the direction the sound comes from, similar to the human sense of hearing. The integrated software then detects unrelated noise and cancels most of it out, sending only voice back over the telephone.
Sweat is a thing of the past with the new PC 320 gaming headset. Its innovative design ensures that air flows through the headset to the ears, while allowing built-up heat to escape. As a result, the PC 320 can be worn with ease and comfort for hours of intense gaming. Xbox® gamers no longer need to turn around or look over their shoulder to know what’s going on in the game. Sennheiser has developed its first ever Xbox® headsets, the X 320 and X 2. The headsets are perfect to assist gamers in hearing what’s happening around them even before they can see it.
The most recent newcomer to the Travel Line is equipped with the innovative NoiseGard™ / digital system, which offers travellers a choice of three noise-cancelling profiles for different ambient noise scenarios. This pioneering digital technology makes it even easier for frequent flyers and globetrotters to simply switch off and enjoy the proven quality of Sennheiser’s “True Sound”.
