Sennheiser at prolight+sound

Audio specialist Sennheiser will be presenting its complete wireless range at prolight+sound 2012, along with the new XS Wireless entry-level series, which will celebrate its European debut in Frankfurt, supplemented by new accessories. A particular highlight are the new KK 204 and KK 205 capsule heads from Georg Neumann GmbH, which are now bringing the legendary Neumann sound to the 2000 wireless series. Also new are the SKP 300 G3 plug-on transmitter from the evolution wireless series and the tourguide EK 1039 tour-guide system. At the heart of the new stand in Hall 6.1, a Sound Room awaits music fans where they can compare Sennheiser’s wired vocal and instrument microphones on the basis of multi-track recordings. Musical entertainment during the international trade fair will be provided by The Eyetones, the Carrington-Brown duo as well as Peter and the Wolvettes.

Can you hear the difference between the evolution e 935 and e 945? Do you know how the MK 4 sounds with vocals and as an instrument microphone? You can find out all of this in the Sound Room at the Sennheiser trade fair stand. A Pro Tools HD system with high-quality multi-track recordings is available so that you can listen to different microphone set-ups. Vocals, drum kit, electric bass, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, trumpet, trombone and saxophone were recorded with various evolution vocal and instrument microphones and the MK 4 condenser microphone. A sound engineer will be present in the Sound Room and will be available to answer visitors’ questions.

With the new KK 204 and KK 205 condenser microphone modules, Sennheiser’s 2000 wireless series now offers genuine Neumann sound. The cardioid KK 204 is recommended for high-end sound with little proximity effect, while the super-cardioid KK 205 can assert itself even on loud stages because of its excellent rejection of lateral sounds. **The stage is set!**
Received with enthusiasm at the last prolight+sound and back again this year: The a-cappella group, The Eyetones, will cast a spell over the audience with the power of their vocals. Pete “The Beat” Wehrmann will handle the drum solos with his usual panache, while Burdette Becks, Marvin Broadie, Anna-Maria Testroet and Jennifer Kothe enchant the audience with their singing.

Appearing alongside the Eyetones are Carrington-Brown (left), an unusual duo that can handle everything from pop to opera and from jazz to Bollywood with their voices, humour and a cello from the 18th century. Rebecca Carrington and Colin Brown have already received many awards for their shows and are a firm fixture on the international comedy and cabaret scene.

Last but not least, Peter and the Wolvettes (right) will appear on the Sennheiser stage. Peter and the Wolvettes are an ABBA cover band with former beatbox champion Pete “The Beat” Wehrmann at its centre and with the clear, deftly arranged vocals of Stefanie Polster, Jennifer Kothe and Henriette Groth, who keep him firmly under control …
