As of 1 September 2012 Sennheiser is acquiring a 100 per cent stake in the Swiss company Bleuel Electronic AG. This move is to allow the acoustics specialist to offer customers in Switzerland and Liechtenstein even greater proximity to Sennheiser and further reinforce its position in Europe. Marc Staubli (Marketing and Sales) and Björn Grefer (Finance and Operations) will be taking over the management of the new Sennheiser subsidiary, while Alfred van der Kolk (previously President of Sennheiser Benelux) will be Chairman of the Board of Directors.
“Establishing our own Sales subsidiary in Switzerland is the logical progression in a customer relationship that we having been working on for many years and marks an important step towards increasing our direct presence on the European market,” says Volker Bartels, President Corporate Services and Spokesperson for the Executive Management Board of Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG. “The European Economic Area is still our biggest market and therefore of great importance to us. We would like to thank Bleuel Electronic AG’s long-term owner and President, Mr Hasso Böhme, and his team for successfully establishing the Sennheiser brand in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. Hasso Böhme is handing over a company that is in great shape today,” stresses Bartels.
The presidents of the newly established Sales subsidiary, Marc Staubli and Björn Grefer, are both highly qualified for the work that lies ahead. Staubli can fall back on many years’ experience both in marketing/sales and technical roles at Bleuel Electronic AG. Grefer has gained extensive experience abroad as an expert on strategy and start-ups at Sennheiser electronic (including developing the sales and service subsidiary in India).
Their Bleuel team consists of highly skilled and well trained specialists in all areas of the audio business.
“It means we have the skills needed to look after all aspects of the target market for our customers as a specialist in consumer and professional audio technology,” stresses Marc Staubli. “The third area of integrated systems is going to be developed further in future as well.”
Björn Grefer, President of Finance and Operations said: “By being closer to the parent company I can see much better opportunities for tapping the potential of the Swiss market and above all being closer to our customers.”
