  • Are the S1 Series headsets offered with alternate connections?

    The S1 Series (S1 Digital, S1 NoiseGARD & S1 Passive) of headsets are designed for General Aviation fixed wing applications and hence are terminated in the standard PJ 068 (5.25 mm) and PJ 055 (6.35 mm) plugs.

    The S1 Series is not offered in any other connector variations or adapters. If you need a different connection then an adapter would be needed to convert the dual plugs to the connection that you need and this adapter would be sourced from your preferred Aviation vendor.

  • Do the S1 Series headsets have TSO Certification?

    None of the S1 Series products (S1 Digital, S1 NoiseGard, S1 Passive) are TSO certified. There are no plans for these models to get TSO certification as they are designed for the General Aviation Pilot and TSO certification is not needed in these instances.

    In a situation where TSO certification is needed (ie: an Airline Pilot or a corporate flight department) then Aviation headset options with TSO certification are as follows:

    - HME 110 - (This is the only General Aviation headset that has TSO documents. It is a good headset for regional airline pilots not wanting ANR).
    - HMEC 26 - (All products have the TSO and are designed for the Commercial Airline Pilot).
    - HMEC 46 - (All products have the TSO and are designed for the Commercial Airline Pilot).

  • How do I adjust the S1 Digital microphone sensitivity?

  • What is the Bluetooth pairing process for the S1 Digital headset?

    So long as the device you want to connect to via Bluetooth supports the appropriate Bluetooth version (2.1 or higher and EDR) and the appropriate Bluetooth profiles (A2DP, HSP, HPF, AVRCP) you should have connectivity with your S1 Digital headset. Please make sure your device is supporting the appropriate Bluetooth version and Profiles. Depending on your device you may need to manually turn these profiles on. NOTE: Sometimes an update will have occurred on the device that you are connecting to and it requires the device to be rebooted before the headphones will connect.

    To pair the S1 Digital please use these steps:

    1) Ensure batteries are in the headset and correctly aligned and securely in place.
    2) Slide the ANR (Active Noise Reduction) to "ON" and a the LED indicator light will turn on.
    3) Press and hold the Sennheiser logo in middle of control until it flashes alternating RED and BLUE.
    4) Make sure device's Bluetooth is on and wait for it to locate the Sennheiser S1 Digital.

    NOTE: The ANR (Active Noise Reduction) must be on in order for the Bluetooth function to work. If you are not connected into a plane the ANR (Active Noise Reduction) will not turn on unless you open the battery box and switch the auto shut off to the "OFF" position. Once you have done this you will see a light to indicate that the ANR (Active Noise Reduction) is on without the ANR (Active Noise Reduction) actually being on.

    NOTE: This process is outlined on Page 13 of the instruction manual.

  • What should I do if my S1 Digital headset is not working for cell phone calls outside of the plane?

    The S1 Digital headset has an auto shut off feature that helps conserve energy. If the "auto shut off" feature is activated then the headset will not work for cell phone calls when the headset is disconnected from the plane.

    To allow the headset to work for cell phone calls when disconnected from the plane the "auto shut off" feature must be turned OFF.
